Charging your Jeep at home is the most cost-effective way to get great performance without relying on expensive public chargers. While you can use a three-pin plug and outlet to charge your Jeep, this is not the most time or cost-efficient way to charge.

We don’t recommend three-phase chargers for home charging as most UK homes will lack a suitable three-phase power supply. Jeep PHEVs are also just as capable of charging quickly with a 7.4kW charger.

The time it takes to charge your Jeep will depend on the model you have, as this will affect the size of the engine. The equipment you use will also affect charging times, as low-quality cables and charging ports will carry the electric charge slowly.
There are currently five commercially available PHEV 4xE Jeep cars: Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Renegade, Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Compass.
The Grand Cherokee has an electric battery capacity of 17.3 kWh. To charge fully, it will take an average of:
● 8 hours to achieve a full charge using a 3-pin plug.
● 3 hours to achieve a full charge using a 7kW charger.
The Jeep Renegade has a battery capacity of 11.4kWh. For a full charge it will take an average of:
● 6 hours using a standard 3-pin plug.
● 2 hours using a 7kWh charger.
The Jeep Wrangler PHEV has a battery capacity of 17 kWh. To charge fully it will take an average of:
● 7 hours to achieve a full charge using a 3-pin plug.
● 2.5 hours to achieve a full charge using a 7kW charger.
The Jeep Compass PHEV and Jeep Renegade PHEV have an electric battery capacity of 11.4 kWh. To charge fully, it will take them an average of:
● 6 hours to achieve a full charge using a 3-pin plug.
● 2 hours to achieve a full charge using a 7kW charger.
It is worth noting that Jeep PHEVs are not compatible with public rapid charging stations. They are best suited to a dedicated at-home charging station, which is the easiest and most cost-effective way to charge your Jeep.
