Charging LEVC Electric Cars
Charging LEVC Electric Cars
LEVC is the London Electric Vehicle Company. They manufacture high-quality electric vehicles for commercial use, such as classic black cabs, shuttles and vans. Since 2017 they have placed electrification at the heart of what they do and have revolutionised the commercial vehicle market with their range of EVs.
Their pioneering TX electric taxi heralded a new generation of personal transportation in the UK – creating a zero-emission solution for taxi companies across the nation. With the introduction of their award-winning VN5 electrified van, they are expanding their collection to more commercial vehicles with a mission to forge a more sustainable future.
If you or your company is thinking about investing in LEVC vehicles, it's important to know how to charge them correctly using reliable charging cables and stations.
LEVC EV Models
LEVC currency has one fully electric taxi on the market:
● LEVC TX (31kWh Battery)
LEVC also has one van on the market:
● LEVC VN 5 (31kWh Battery)
Both vehicles are fully electric commercial vehicles.
LEVC EVs Charging Cables
When it comes to charging your LEVC electric vehicle, you'll need to invest in high-quality charging cables to get the best performance from your EV and its battery.
Although LEVC prides themselves on their long-lasting, liquid-cooled batteries, it's important that the charging equipment you choose to use carries the full current from your charger to the battery, so no energy is wasted and that the car charges quickly.
Like most modern EVs, LEVC vehicles are compatible with type 2 charging cables. Here at Smartly, we have a fantastic range of premium quality, UK-manufactured charging cables compatible with LEVC electric vehicles:

If you are a business investing in multiple LEVC commercial vehicles for your transport needs, you could consider a commercial charger, such as:
Investing in a charging set-up for your vehicles will help you save money and make the most of going electric without relying on more expensive public charger rates.
You can even optimise your charging times by charging overnight to save money on off-peak grid hours or cut costs further by using solar or wind energy to create a sustainable power source for your charging.
You can find the full selection of chargers on our website. We do not recommend three-phase chargers for home usage, as most homes will not have a suitable three-phase power supply to accommodate them.
How Long Does It Take To Charge A LEVC EV?
The amount of time it takes to charge your LEVC will depend on the charging equipment you use. Using high-quality cables, a full charge for both the TX and the VN5 will take approximately:
● 9 hours using a 3-pin emergency plug.
● 7 hours using a 3.6kW charger.
● 5 hours using a 7kW charger.
● 2 hours using a 22kW charger.
Both the TX and the VN5 are capable of fast public rapid charging. They can reach 20-80% charge in:
● 30 minutes using a 50kW charger.
● 30 minutes using a 150kW charger.
