For Toyota, there’s only one commercially available, fully electric Toyota vehicle; the Toyota BZ4X. However, they have an additional 5 PHEV models available. Charging any of these vehicles will depend on the type of charger and charging cable that you have.
At the moment, the BZ4X has a battery capacity of 71.4kW.
The hybrid plug-in models have the following battery capacities:
● Prius PHEV - 8.8 kWh
● Rav4 PHEV - 18.1 kWh

Toyota Home Chargers
No matter what kind of electric car you decide to get, having an appropriate, high-end charger is vital to get the most out of your Toyota.

● 31 hours using a 3-pin emergency plug.
● 20 hours using a 3.6kW charger.
● 10 hours using a 7kW charger.
● 7 hours using a 22kW charger.
However, as the battery is a lithium-ion battery, it can be much more efficient to charge to 80% rather than a full charge. To charge until 80%, it’ll take:
● 60 minutes using a 50 kW charger.
● 20 minutes using a 150kW charger.
Do note that the 50kW and 150kW chargers will be at public locations and will incur a more expensive fee than slower home charging.
For the Prius PHEV, you can achieve a full charge:
● In 4 hours using a 3-pin emergency charger.
● In 3 hours using a 3.6 kW, 7 kW, or 22 kW charger.
For the Rev4 PEV, you can achieve:
● In 8 hours using a 3-pin emergency charger.
● In 5 hours using a 3.6 kW charger.
● In 3 hours using a 7 kW or 22 kW charger.
It is worth mentioning that PHEVs are unable to use rapid charging units.
